Guess what?!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????
I FREAKING DANCED WITH SUPER MARIO JUST NOW!!
Gosh, i am so happy. I never thought i’d have this opportunity…but surprise, surprise…Mario himself showed up Union on a Tues night!!
Waaaaaaa. Highlight of the year man. The moves were so interesting, surprising, and smooth. Thoroughly fun and totally enjoyable.
Special thanks to 2 people. I wouldn’t have had the guts to ask if it weren’t for the 2.
1st to Joyce who started the ball rolling by asking Mario to dance. If she can do it, so can i!
2nd to Daniel who kept encouraging me to ask Mario. Thanks for the continuous prompting!
I’m so happy.

Been dancing alot lately…almost as much as when i first started dancing 2 years ago. Amazing really..so many ppl have commented on this. Is it really so strange to see me back again?
Salsa (as Johnny has so famously quoted on his now defunct blog) has really changed my life. I can’t imagine what i’d be doing or who I be seeing if i wasn’t part of this community. Why, if JP and I don’t work out, i can’t imagine dating another guy who can’t dance!
The thought fills me with horror.
Anyhow, with the increased visits to union, i’m happy to say that the bachata standards have improved dramatically since. Or perhaps I’m just dancing with different ppl but i think the guys are really “feeling” the music now. It’s most enjoyable to dance with someone who is really “into” the music (bachata or otherwise)..it really takes the dance to another level. You get to see alot more personal style nowadays..which is good!
But in case you are wondering, i’m still NOT for the kinky hipthrusts and suggestive squats. Cannot lah…how to pretend that I want to hump you when i really don’t want to hump you or be humped??? hahahahaah.
I wish i can go for the malaysia salsa fest this year at desaru in june…but other than 2 guys i know, nobody else seems to want to go. I can’t very well bunk with them and i definitely do not want to sleep alone in a creepy hotel room by myself! I think my old clique (which i am, sad to say, not quite a part of anymore) is not so passionate to want to go for these things anymore. Any takers?

Went to Union today without JP.
Felt a little funny and insecure at first..but somehow, once I stepped into the club, there just didn’t seem that noticeable a difference without his presence.
Anyhow, moving on…the music today was terrible. The songs were all so fast and there was so much “noise”!!! I really don’t think we (as in we, the SG salsa scene) have reached that level in order to be able to dance a fast song without looking like we all have fire ants in our pants.
Everyone was like freaking marching..there were arms and legs all over the place. It was in general, SCARY. I think the DJ had a deathwish for all of us this evening.
It’s not very fun either when you dance with a distracted lead…his concentration is on how to avoid the flying elbows, stomping feet and streaming hair while keeping in time wand executing the moves rather than on his partner or the dance itself. But that said, it’s better that I dance with a distracted lead than one who isn’t distracted by the flying elbows, stomping feet and streaming hair and is merely intent on executing that Intermediate 1.5 move he just learnt and hasn’t perfected.
Bah.
I think maybe i shouldn’t go on Fridays. There are just too many people. What can I say? It crowds my style.
Today i hung out with a guy (who wasn’t jp) for dinner and drinks. Something that, i should think, is very normal and totally okay.
Thing is, before i agreed to dinner, i caught myself wondering if i would be giving him the wrong impression that i was single (which i am, technically) and available (technically yes since i am not married, morally no since i have a steady bf).
I’ve decided that all one really needs, in order to get through life and be successful, is to be born with a glib tongue.
Honestly. Good looks can fade and are only “good” in the eyes of the correct beholder. Intelligence can land you in the best schools and a job at a prestigious company…but if you don’t play the game, you ain’t goin nowhere.
Being able to say the right thing at the right time can open more doors than any certificate can. Being able to say the wrong thing in the right way makes you an instant winner with men and ladies alike.
Saying the right thing will get you the girl. Saying the right thing makes your boss like you even if you don’t know shite about your work. Saying the right thing will help you close a deal that you don’t deserve.
Couple thick skin with a glib tongue and you will have it made for life. All I can say is that my hide has definitely gotten thicker now that I have changed jobs. Picking up the phone to coldcall a CEO is not a big deal anymore. Can’t say the same about being able to say the right thing all the time though.

I am so slow. I have FINALLY discovered how fun facebook can be.
Fun because somehow everyone is on facebook. i was trawling through J2’s friend list and by the time I was done, X number of ppl had already approved me.
Oh well..better late than never I guess.
And since my office blocks msn, this seems like a great way to escape the monotony of work.

Tonight was a very special night. Cliff ( i hope i got his name right!) proposed to his gf in front of everyone, amid wolf whistles and cheers in Union Square. It was so freaking romantic! To add on to the melodrama, the guy even went on his knees!
Not that I am trying to insinuate or put a dampener or anything like that, but could anyone have said no in such a circumstance???
Anyway, my sincere congratulations to the couple. I am really very happy for them. It’s really great that ppl meet and get married because of salsa.

We recently went to some super ulu (but nice) place called Sunset Grill & Pub that was hidden deep in the twisted maze of Seletar Airport. I had never been to Seletar Airport before so it was a real eye opener for me…i never knew such places (open grounds with green grassy gardens and colonial houses) still existed in SG.
Hey hey, I’ve finally done it. I’ve uploaded (some) of the pictures of my last company outing. Apologise for the delay and for causing any symptoms of envy. Tee hee.
