Hi. I know…this is one very late blog post…but with the amount of stuff going on right now, I really don’t have the time or energy to put up anything online. But I assure you, all’s good.
So, come this May, I will been dancing salsa for 2 years. So fast! It seems only like yesterday that I got dragged to Caliente at Amoy Street! I was just browsing through friendster earlier this evening and saw a picture of me and my salsa beginner 1 classmates..and the funny part is that it seems like I am the last surviving member of that class. Even my 2 instructors seem to have gone missing from the salsa scene…i see them at Union only once every 1/2 year or so. hahaha.
I’m glad that i still enjoy dancing and that I still discover new things about the dance. Surprisingly, now that i’ve decided to throw away the rules and just “do rubbish” on the dance floor, my technique (as in spinning and footwork) actually improved! Funny, isn’t it? Maybe the key is really just to let loose and go with the flow.
Anyhow, i’n glad Union will be closing for renovation and there will be a bigger space to dance soon. Sometimes, I think it’s really fortunate that Union is owned by NTUC…if our salsa club was owned by any other corporate entity, I seriously doubt that the salsa scene in Singapore could ever have flourished.
Right then, gtg now. And yes, I will be putting those photos up soon.
