Excuse me, but my life is waiting.

Celebrated Zsazsa’s birthday for her yesterday…yes, finally.

First, a rare picture of zz smiling.
It’s so difficult to get a pic of her smiling you know?

Must have been the bone. :D

Anyway, she was very happy tearing the meat off the smoked bone. She obviously could not finish the bone in one sitting, and, as all dogs do, went to hide her bone.

She’s not very good at it though and she knows it. She had to change her hiding place like 4 times throughout the night because we kept finding the bone. wahahahaa.

This morning, she went to check on her bone to make sure it was still there.

It’s quite funny, really.

Anyway, apart from celebrating zz’s birthday, jp and I decided to make fruit salad.

We had water melon, pine apple, fuji apple, orange, mango and dragon fruit.

Sorry, no pics of the salad…only zz and the melon.

As you can see, the melon is really not that big. And it was full of seeds, damnit!

And because of this rather small melon, jp cut his pinky.
Well…it’s not really his fault because I forgot to tell him that the knife I handed him was a double-edged knife.

Literally lah!
See?

It’s more powerful than those Ginsu knives okay?!
But don’t ask me why it’s double-edged.

Yea, and this is my poseur boyfriend, and his pinky wrapped in tissue paper and held together with a rubber band.

Hahahaha.

p/s: Our fruit salad was damn yummy okay?

an afternoon of leisure

On this rather wet and cold tuesday afternoon, we went to lunch at Chinatown. While waiting for Kris to change money for her Darwin trip (damnit. still jealous lor!), i bought myself this weird hair appliance which is supposed to help me create the perfect bun effortlessly.

Looks can be deceiving.

This is Margaret’s first attempt.
Even she agrees it looks AUNTIE…but she was very happy to take photos of me in my Auntie-do – the Auntie-do that Auntie Margaret helped create.

Hmm..Auntie Audrey.

Actually sounds quite nice hor?

hahahahaha. Siao. I’m only gonna be 24 next year okay? Auntie your head!

After concluding that the problem was really with my hair, rather than the hair clip thing, Margaret promptly passed the baton to Irene.

First, you need to put all the hair through the hole (okay, sounds wrong >_
Personally, I think 4 hands are needed to accomplish this task. 2 hands to hold the hair, and 1 hand to hold the hair clip and 1 hand to pull the hair through the clip.

Next, you need to roll the hair around the clip thing (see below).

After that, you need to bend the clip thing into a circle and fasten it.

BTW, i think Irene’s finger nails are damn long, and more than a little bit scary. Pls remind me that I don’t ever want to get into a cat fight with her.

Ta da! This is the end result.

An afternoon of leisure indeed! :)

Zouk VS Movida

As you guys know, I went to Zouk on Friday for a Stuff magazine party.

Well, unfortunately (or fortunately, i don’t know) I got KOed pretty early.
Gosh. I think all the salsa has seriously affected my drinking abilities.
What, just 7 – 8 glasses of vodka and a beer had me out.

But i guess it was a good thing anyway, else I ‘d probably be dancing on top of speakers with michelle and gang and do god knows what else. I think maybe jp was secretly pleased when i declared that i was drunk and wanted to go home.

Oh, and then on Sat…we checked out the clubs at St James Powerhouse.

Lovely.

I love Movida. The band there is fantastic! I only wish that the dance floor was larger…there was no way to salsa there though. Guess it’s more of a drinks-after-dinner place than anything else. The Bellini Room is pretty nice too…if you like Jazz and Swing. Dragonfly is, er…cheena.

Oh, oh…and the place (St James) is so completlely swarming with poseurs. Ah, and where there are poseurs, there are celebreties. Saw Patricia Mok, David Gan and Fiona Xie.

Patricia Mok is actually not really ugly in real life. She just look completely normal.
So i guess, I’d probably look hideous on TV too.

Fiona, well, she just looks the way she looks on TV – IRRITATING. She was wearing this RIDICULOUS hat thing too. (See below left)
So stupid looking right? It’s this color too.
I mean, it’s so hot in the club already…so why wear the hat?
One word – POSEUR.
Okay, anyway.. membership at Movida comes ridiculously cheap. You just need to open a bottle and tada! It costs only $188. I wonder why…considering membership at MOS goes into (or so i heard) the thousands.
Ah, and one final thing…the place is also literally full of girls who dance like sluts.
I’m sorry. I’m all for the subtly sexy, come hither thing…but it’s another thing when girls rub themselves against each other (or other men), wriggle like they are in heat and do the “mock touch”" thing. Only one thought comes to my mind whenever i see girls dancing like that – go get a room.
I guess they don’t call it dirty dancing for nothing. I hate it.

So, working at Tan Boon Liat, a shack of a building, does have it’s benefits.

It’s just a 5min walk to Zouk.

That said, tonight is the first time after working at my company for more than a year, that I am actually dropping by Zouk after work.

So, here we go!

It’s time to P.A.R.T.Y !!!

Tomorrow is Zsazsa’s birthday. She’ll be 1 human year old tomorrow.

And, I think, 7 doggy years.

Awww.

So, me and jp are going to buy her a super big bone. Like a giant humongous one…hopefully something that’s even bigger than her.

Bet that’ll make her day…as well as make up for the fact that I’ll be at Zouk tomo for a party and be home late tomorrow. :D
