Excuse me, but my life is waiting.

taking a break

I’m taking a short hiatus from my salsa classes.

I’m tired.

As pointed out by Dawn, we’ve been rushing for classes at JJ for 10 Saturdays in a row. Wow.

This means I have not been sleeping in for 10 Saturdays.
No wonder I’m beat.

I need time to:

1. Catch up on sleep (i sleep an average of 4 to 5 hours daily only. I am seriously expiring.)
2. Do “maintenance” for zz (she’s one smelly doggy now)
3. Play piano
4. Talk to my family
5. Do hair/face/nail maintenance
6. Go shopping
7. Yum Cha

Blah blah blah.

Yea, that’s it. I need a break.

My life is too full.
But no worries, i’ll still go Union though. :)

Went to Great World for lunch today…And bought myself a punnet of strawberries (yes, the correct term is “punnet”) AND microwaveable popcorn!!!

So fun!

Now I can make popcorn in the office…while waiting for my email to download!

Not!

Hahaha.

Anyway, Joel aka Mr Pandan Cake aka Pop it, pop it, Pop the popcorn” was super excited at the prospect of popcorn in the office.

He decided to come help me watch the microwave do the work. Hehehe. Yeah, just dump the bag into the microwave and wait for 2.5mins and we’re good to go.

Look at his greedy face!!! Someone is going to get fat soon! hehehe.

Yeah…that’s Joel alright.

He’s Priscilla’s successor!

*evil laughter*

oreo cheesecake

Guess what I did yday?

We (yes amazingly, it’s a “WE”), meaning me and jp, decided to make cheesecake..

A no-bake oreo cheesecake to be exact.
Heehee.

How did it turn out? Well, I would say it turned out quite well.

It was an excellent result for a girl who’s idea of cooking constitutes of frying eggs and instant noodles. Jp can’t cook either, just in case you were wondering.
He just wanted to mess up the place and stir stuff.

haha.

Not bad lah, can try the recipe if you like.
But go easy on the cheese and whipped cream. :)

Yday I took the bus home from Bugis with jp.
It’s been a very very very long time since I last took a bus home from anywhere.

I took the 170 from Sim Lim, alighted at the Customs and walked home.

Why, I felt like I was 16 again.
Strolling hand-in-hand along a beaten track covered with dead leaves with nary a soul in sight…there was even a yellow lighted lamp post under which we stood for a moment.

It’s been so long since I walked around my neighborhood. Think the last time I walked along that path was when I was 14?

Wow. Time really flies.

I remember running down that very path everyday during Primary school. Me and my friends would be either holding on to a 20cent popsicle or a bottle of coke, pick at the weird plants along the way, throw sticks at the jumbu tree to make the fruits fall when in season and fight with the boys.

Yes, I was quite the tomboy when I was younger.
Can’t tell hor? Hehe.

Thinking back brings a nice woozy feeling to my tummy…the memory of the days when time was not a treasured commodity. Now, 24hrs a day is just not enough. I need at least 36!

Sigh.

I miss climbing trees. I want to go exploring giant canals and get mud all the way to my knees catching crabs at the seaside behind my house. I want to find the haunted ruin in the mini forest along the jetty.

I want to be a little girl again.

But it’s okay. I relived the moments again yesterday as I walked down the path with jp.

It’s Desmond’s last day today in my company. The dodo happily dropped the bomb on my yesterday. In fact, he hit me with a stack of papers while exclaiming very excitedly that he had “a secret” to tell me.

Right.

Thanks Desmond, I have to clear up your SCB CC Privileges and DSO looooorrrrrr!!!

Actually, I think the seat he is sitting on is cursed. So far, everyone who has sat there has left the company. Hmmm..BAD FENG SHUI!!!

See? They all become mad after a while.

Hahaha.

A kid in Candyland

Went for my first networking session yday with jp, desmond and his sis (who conveniently decided not to show up) at Outback Restaurant at Millenia Walk.

I have decided that I don’t like networking sessions.
The people are all so fake…and sleazy. I can’t believe I met a sleazy dentist. Urgh.
People in the medical profession should be the last people on earth i expect to be sleazy.

Anyway, after we had our nibbles, we made a quick exit and headed for my favourite sweet shop in SG..which is directly opposite Outback. It’s called Candy Empire. Aptly named, I would say. Hehe.

The selection there is FANTASTIC. Can you believe we bought like $40+++ worth of chocolates and cookies? I really felt like a kid let loose in candyland man.

Hahaha. Madness.

This is us, very pleased with our Bailey’s Fudge… Ta Da!

Desmond was not quite amused by both jp and my antics in the shop though. He kept a safe distance from us and rather reluctantly took photos for us.

Hahaha.

But we were a little more than disappointed after opening the box.

We went to the jazz lounge at Ritz after that.

Hmm. I had a Coco Jambo (which incidentally, is VERY yummy), jp had a Daiquiri (which was freaking sour. *bleah*).

Desmond had a Barcardi Gold, double on the Rocks. That straw-like thing he is holding is actually the stirrer btw. Hahahaha. And don’t you think he looks like a chipmunk in this shot?

Here we are…in our favourite pose. Okay, okay…MY favourite pose. hehe.
